THE NELAS SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES: FREE & PAID
THE NELAS offers a structured scholarship program designed to provide high-quality training in acting, media production, and television arts.
1. Free Scholarships (Merit-Based)
These highly competitive scholarships are awarded to exceptionally talented individuals who demonstrate outstanding potential, passion, and commitment to the craft.

Full tuition coverage for the duration of the chosen course.
Access to state-of-the-art training facilities and industry-expert mentors.

2. PAID/ASSISTED SCHOLARSHIPS (PARTIALLY FUNDED)
For those who meet our admission standards but require financial assistance, we offer partially funded scholarship opportunities.

Flexible payment plans for the remaining balance.
Opportunities for work-study programs within the academy.

Successful applicants will be able to train at one of our academy or affiliate locations both in Nigeria and overseas:

ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for any scholarship program, applicants must meet the following CRITERIA:

•tTalent: Demonstrated acting ability (via interview or audition submission).
•tNollywood Knowledge: A basic understanding of the Nollywood film industry, its history, and key figures.
•tEducation: Minimum educational qualifications (e.g., High School Diploma, SSCE, or equivalent).
•tCommitment: Dedication to completing the full course curriculum.

HOW TO APPLY
The application process is rigorous and designed to identify the most promising talent.
Application Window: Applications are currently open. The deadline is January 15, 2026.
STEP 1: APPLICATION FORM
Fill out the online scholarship application form: (Navigate to the "Nelas Academy Scholarships" section).

STEP 2: REQUIRED SUBMISSIONS
1.tUpload the following documents and media files within the application portal:
2.tBio/CV: A brief resume of your background and any previous experience.
3.tPersonal Statement: A 500-word essay detailing your passion for Nollywood, your career goals, and why you deserve the scholarship.
4.tAudition Piece (Video): A maximum 3-minute video monologue (can be contemporary Nollywood or dramatic).
5.tProof of Basic Nollywood Knowledge: This may involve a short quiz within the application or a section in your personal statement/interview.
6.tAcademic Transcripts/Certificates.
STEP 3: AUDITION/INTERVIEW
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a virtual or in-person audition/interview with the academy directors and faculty.
