The Nelas Academy of Arts, Media and Television proudly announces the conferment of its highest honour, the Grand Leadership and Humanitarian Personality of the Year Award 2017, on His Royal Majesty King Togbe Ngoryifia Céphas Kosi Bansah in recognition of his outstanding leadership, humanitarian service, commitment to community development, and remarkable contribution to strengthening the relationship between Africa and Europe.
The prestigious honour was presented during the Nelas Academy Awards and the Queen of Nollywood international event held in Ludwigshafen, Germany, celebrating individuals whose achievements continue to inspire humanity and create positive change across borders.
The award ceremony was graced by distinguished personalities and special guests of honour, including His Excellency Ambassador Olu Falowo, the Nigerian Consul General in Frankfurt, Germany, renowned celebrity fashion designer Arrey Kono Enow, media mogul Chief Femi Owoniyi, Teddy Oscar, Nelas Academy Germany Coordinator, and other notable leaders, dignitaries, cultural ambassadors, and members of the international creative community.
Born on April 22, 1948, King Togbe Ngoryifia Céphas Kosi Bansah, also known as Céphas Bansah, is the developmental chief of the Gbi Traditional Area of Hohoe, Ghana. Based in Ludwigshafen, Germany, His Royal Majesty has become a globally recognised symbol of visionary traditional leadership, cultural diplomacy, and humanitarian commitment.
King Bansah’s remarkable journey represents the power of service beyond geographical boundaries. After first arriving in Germany in 1970 through a student exchange programme, he built a successful career through dedication and excellence, earning two German Master Craftsman qualifications in agricultural machinery mechanics and vehicle mechanics.
Beyond his professional achievements, His Royal Majesty has dedicated decades to improving the lives of his people in Ghana. Following his selection as developmental chief in 1987, he established initiatives aimed at supporting sustainable development in Hohoe and surrounding communities.
Through his humanitarian efforts and strong international relationships, King Bansah facilitated the provision of essential resources, including water pumps, pipes, electricity materials, medical equipment, wheelchairs, ambulance vehicles, and support from medical professionals. His contributions helped improve access to clean water, healthcare, and other vital services for many people.
His leadership has also made him an important cultural ambassador between Africa and Europe. Through numerous international media appearances, public engagements, music, and cultural activities, King Bansah has used his platform to promote a better understanding of Africa, encourage partnerships, and inspire global cooperation.
