HONOURING EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP: THE NELAS ACADEMY CELEBRATES THE DISTINGUISHED ATTENDANCE OF CLLR. SARBAZ BARZNJI AT THE 17TH NELAS ACADEMY AWARDS IN LONDON
The Presidency of The Nelas Academy of Arts, Media and Television is proud to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable participation of Councillor Sarbaz Barznji, Mayor of the London Borough of Lambeth, as the Special Guest of Honour at the 17th Nelas Academy Awards, held in London in 2024.
His presence at this prestigious international gathering represented far more than a ceremonial appearance. It demonstrated a profound commitment to cultural diplomacy, diversity, artistic excellence, and the enduring relationship between Africa and the United Kingdom. Cllr. Barznji’s inspiring personal journey—from arriving in the United Kingdom as a Kurdish refugee to becoming the civic leader of one of London’s most vibrant boroughs—continues to inspire people across the world.
The Nelas Academy was deeply honoured to welcome such an outstanding public servant whose dedication to inclusion, community development, and cultural engagement reflects the very values our institution has championed for over two decades.
In recognition of his exceptional public service, unwavering commitment to multicultural harmony, and meaningful support for the global creative industry, The Nelas Academy proudly conferred upon Cllr. Sarbaz Barznji one of the Academy’s highest and most prestigious honours during the London ceremony.
This distinguished recognition is reserved for individuals whose leadership transcends borders and whose contributions significantly advance humanity through public service, international cooperation, and cultural understanding.
As President of The Nelas Academy of Arts, Media and Television, I extend my profound appreciation to Cllr. Sarbaz Barznji for accepting our invitation and for honouring the Academy with his presence as Special Guest of Honour.
