High Chief Fidelis Nwuke Onwa Emerges Winner Of The 2025 Nelas Academy Award For Humanitarian Services
The President of the Nelas Academy of Arts, Media and Television, Frank Ikegwuonu, on behalf of the Governing Council, International Advisory Board, Management, Members and Partners of the Academy, is pleased to officially announce High Chief Fidelis Nwuke Onwa as the Winner of the 2025 Nelas Academy Award for Humanitarian Services.
This prestigious recognition celebrates individuals whose lives and works exemplify compassion, selfless service, social responsibility and an unwavering commitment to improving humanity. Following a rigorous international assessment of nominees, Ambassador High Chief Fidelis Nwuke Onwa distinguished himself through his remarkable humanitarian initiatives, leadership in peace advocacy, and long-standing commitment to community development.
Ambassador High Chief Fidelis Nwuke Onwa serves as a Chaplain Brigadier General, Commander. Through strategic collaboration with the Nigerian Chaplain Organisation, the Eagle Anti-Crime Awareness Organisation, and various government protection agencies, he has consistently championed peacebuilding, justice, security awareness and sustainable societal development.
His humanitarian vision is further demonstrated through the establishment of the Nwuke Onwa Orphanage Care Foundation, headquartered in Nuremberg, Germany. The foundation is dedicated to the welfare of orphans, widows, vulnerable families and other less privileged members of society. Its mission extends beyond relief by promoting education, scholarships, vocational training and skills acquisition, thereby empowering beneficiaries to become self-reliant and productive members of society. The foundation also works to protect and uphold the rights, interests and well-being of disadvantaged communities while contributing to socio-economic, educational and cultural development.
In addition, Ambassador High Chief Fidelis Nwuke Onwa founded the Nwuke Onwa Humanitarian Foundation in 2017 in Nuremberg, Germany. The foundation operates through several specialist departments focusing on traditional and cultural development, agricultural advancement, humanitarian assistance, human rights advocacy, community activism, sports development and support for worship centres. Through these initiatives, the foundation has continued to make meaningful contributions to human dignity, community empowerment and sustainable development.
Both the Nwuke Onwa Orphanage Care Foundation and the Nwuke Onwa Humanitarian Foundation are affiliated with the UNISON Humanitarian Initiative (UNHI), reflecting their commitment to global humanitarian cooperation and impactful community service.
